Wii Messenger Idea
After finding WiiAim.com which is a web application AIM for the Wii in development that will run within the Opera web browser I thought why doesn’t someone come up with a full Wii messenger that works with MSN, AIM and the other various messaging protocols. It could even perhaps have a proper Channel within the Wii for it. Why not take it one step further and have instant messaging within the Wii to other Wii friends rather than having to send a message to them each time.A Wii messenger could further expand the online capabilites of the Wii, enabling friends and family to communicate easily to one another via the Wii. The only down side is that you would have to use the Wii remote to type with the on screen keyboard, which could be very frustrating and tireing when used for extended periods of time. This opens up another idea of a Wiiboard, a Wii keyboard that communicates to the Wii via bluetooth.
Below are some mock up images of Talk2Mii/MessageMii (or another Wii Mii name) my idea for a Wii messenger.
Talk2Mii/MessageMii would use a interface rather like the current Memo one but with a few more lines exposed to what is currently shown and it constantly scrolling live to keep up with the conversation. The interface instead of having a normal Display Picture that most of the instant messaging protocols have would simple be a pic of your Mii that people can use to identify you with, along with being able to pick a custom screen name as is usual with instant messaging programmes.
Yes we can all have a laugh at my skills :P.
