Stargate Worlds: Ten Ton Hammer Interview
![]()
Ten Ton Hammer have an interview with a new member of the SGW team, Kevin Balentine, who is the new PR manager for CME.
Part of the interview is about Kevin Balentine, what he did before he got involved with SGW, and why/how he jumped into gaming and joined CME.
Ten Ton Hammer: I’d like to go back to your statement that the fantasy market has been saturated but not the Sci-Fi. To date, none of the Sci-Fi MMOs have been terribly successful. Take Earth and Beyond, Matrix and even Star Wars Galaxies. What makes SGW different?
Kevin: We’ve got two things stacked in our favor: One, we have a truly world-class development team that has been assembled over the last year and a half. Our credits read like a who’s who in gaming. Two, we’ve got several different gameplay options that will appeal to a wide variety of gamers. Oh, and of course, the Stargate is the perfect jumping off point for an MMORPG.
Sure is a Stargate MMORPG is certainly one of the best platforms you could start with for an MMORPG the ability to just travel to other planets within the game, almost instantaneously is one of the key points of why the game will be fantastic, and if clans/guilds/alliance could take control of planets well that sure would make the game something would it not?
Ten Ton Hammer: Is there anything upcoming that we can look forward to from the team?
Kevin:We’re making plans to go to Vancouver in March to be a part of Creation’s Stargate Convention. We’re real excited about meeting the fans face to face and telling them where we are at that point.
For those of you lucky enough to beable to go to the Stargate convention I am sure that CME will have some fantastic news to bring out to the Stargate community where they are progressing with the game, and ideas that have been put into action. You can read the full interview at Ten Ton Hammers site here.
