NexGen Wars.com

NexGenWars.com is a site that updates the number of consoles sold for each of the nextgen consoles. How accurate it is I am uncertain, but its better than nothing and they have some cool images that you can add to your site or forum, myspace, etc for those fanboys out there.

Below are the images and the number of consoles sold is on them.

Here is what NexGenWars.com have to say about their site:

The next generation of gaming is upon us, and the console wars have begun. NexGen Wars.com has spent countless hours researching sales facts from dozens of sources to track the worldwide sales of the consoles and monitor the next generation of console wars between the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Sony Playstation 3, and the Nintendo Wii. Remember, these numbers are only estimates, but they are constantly monitored and updated to assure the closest estimates possible for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii.

They claim elsewhere on their site that they are updated once every minute.

Poo Remote

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

I was busy getting along with some work when I looked across at my Wii remote thinking id much rather be playing Wii right now, when I noticed that the FFCD ID was POO-WC45. Lol I thought to myself, how funny is that, that the Wii remote or should I say Poo remote has Poo written on it. What will parents think knowing that their children are playing with Wii and stiring it with Poo (refering to the motion sensing :) )

Wii Ranking System Idea Updated

A while ago I wrote a post about my Wii Ranking System Idea and thought that I would recap and update it.

I still think that the Wii could really use some kind of ranking system, where high scores or perhaps achievements are ranked globally. This would help to incite more competitve play on the Wii and enhance the community.

The Wii ranking system could use the following ideas I have thought of:

  • A channel for high scores making it easy for them to be viewed.
  • Scores are ranked to the Mii that you have created or your Wii friend code/some other method of identification.
  • Notification of high scores/rank you have can be sent to your Wii message board.
  • If you are in the top ten or number one in a certain game and fall a place you are notified so you can take that high score back.

The Wii ranking system could work for a variety of Wii games where it is possible to get a huge score like Table Tennis rallies in Wii Play or perhaps in a few selected games in WiiSports. I am sure that in the future alot more games for the Wii will come out where you can achieve high scores and a ranking system that is built into the Wii as a channel would be a very neat thing indeed.

Got some of your own ideas for a Wii ranking system, leave a comment.
