Top Commentator Problems [Update - 1]

Monday, March 12th, 2007

I have been experiencing some problems with setting top commentators to reset weekly. For the time being it is back to monthly until I can sort out his problem.

Anyone have any suggestions/know how to set it so weekly resets work, as it does not appear to be working properly at the moment.

[Update] I have installed the latest version of Top Commentators v1.03 and have set it so that comments reset every 7 days, hopefully this will in effect work how I want it to. I will keep you posted.

Top Commentators To Reset Every Week

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

I am going to trial resetting the top commentators list every week. So if you want the free link back your going to have to comment more often :)

Also starting from now the top commentator at the end of the week will be featured in a “Blogosphere week in review” post that will take place every week. With the first one being posted at the end of this week (commencing 12 of March). What will you find in the Blogosphere week in review? Just the general happenings and cool things I found on other blogs throughout the week. The top commentator will get a nice paragraph with a few links within the week in review as a little incentive to leave comments here.

The Top Commentator for the week ending 11 March 2007 was:

Toss Me Another Beer

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

Sick of having to get up in the middle of a sporting game to get yourself another beer? Well here is the solution for you. Reported in The West Australian today, a US engineering graduate has create this beer tossing machine to help remind him of what college life was like. The Beer Launching Fridge (BLF) is a fully automated, remote controlled beer throwing machine. The remote for it is a key less entry system for a car, the unlock button will start the BLF rotating and once you have it lined up you press the unlock button again it will stop ready to fire in the direction you have set. The locking button initiates the launching of the beer.
The magazine for the BLF can lock and load 10 beers in total.

John Cornwell has plans to create a limited number of BLF’s, with a new remote having arrow buttons for the angle and 10 preset angles.

Stargate Worlds At GDC

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

MMORPG.com managed to catch up with Joe Ybarra and Kevin Balentine of CME productions at the recent Game Developers Conference. The result some ground breaking new news about Stargate Worlds. The dev team are expecting to have the first playable version by the end of the month, so hopefully the full version will be out later this year.

Summing up the article:

  • Ability to choose between two factions good and bad.
  • Good consists of:
    • Human
    • Asgard
    • Free Jaffa
  • Bad consists of:
    • Humans that have gone bad
    • Goa’uld
    • Jaffa
  • 3 Points that CME are sticking to with the production of SGW:
    • Modern combat
    • Exploration
    • Replay value
  • Stargate-Atlantis expansion planned
  • Dev team hoping to make the game take 200 hrs to get to maximum level (does not seem very long to me)
  • Constantly be adding new content via updates so, areas that you might of explored once will be different, if you choose to go back

…modern combat, exploration, and re-playability. Joe’s hope for combat is dynamic. There will be weapons going off everywhere, players will have the option to duck and hide for cover. There is everything in the game from rifles, staff weapons, hand grenades, even the Asgardian weapons.

Well thats pretty much all of it, but I am sure ive missed something read the full article over at MMORPG.com

Are you stuck in Crackdown trying to find the location of certain gang members?

Well Ryan from ieatn00bs4breakfast has come to the rescue, seeing as the the normal map that comes in Crackdown is not effective enough at pinpointing the locations of gang members he has compiled several entries for where some gangs are located.

If you take the time to look around Ryan’s blog you will find lots of other useful information pertaining to Crackdown.

Mii Buttons Gone??

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

miilogo2copy.jpg

Has the Mii Buttons site dissapeared? I was looking over some of my older posts (January) and checked out the Mii Buttons site to see what was going down, and It appears that not much since the site has gone offline, and has just been replaced as a page of ads.

Rather dissapointing when you think about it as the Mii Buttons idea was quite a good well thought up idea, oh well I guess that all good things must come to and end.
Did anyone ever actually get their hands on their very own Mii Button?
